Sunday Catechesis Programme


Background

In October 2019, Dominican friars based in St Saviours Priory, Dublin, in conjunction with a group of parents got together to set up a Sunday Catechesis Programme. The Programme commenced in October 2019 and continued until March 2020 when Covid 19 restrictions came into place.

The Sunday Catechesis consists of three individual Programmes as follows:

  • 3- 6 years (follow the Good Shepherd Programme)
  • 6- 9 years
  • 10 + years

Each programme runs for approximately six weeks followed by a break.

Facilitators

Parents and Dominicans friars jointly deliver the children and young person’s programme.

To deliver the Catechesis Programme, all personnel involved must be Garda vetted and have completed the National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland one day safeguarding training programme.

Location and Times

The Sunday Catechesis Programmes commences at 1pm and finishes at 1.40 pm every Sunday in St. Saviours Priory, Dominic Street, Dublin.

Current Situation

Due to the current pandemic it has not been possible to run the above programmes but is hoped to recommence the various programmes when it is safe t and government restrictions allow for such activities.
