The Irish Dominican Province has a long history of commitment to Youth Ministry. Over the years, this has taken many forms, for example, Knockadoon Youth Camp, near Ballymacoda, Cork and the Friary Youth Club in Dundalk.
The Acts of the most recent Provincial Chapter state that “brothers, in collaboration with branches of the Dominican Family, plan to set up a Dominican Youth Movement and plan for Irish Dominican involvement for the next World Youth Day”(Acts, 2016, 4.7.).
The Acts of the Chapter also state that a “Youth Ministry Forum be set up with brothers who are involved in that ministry, to facilitate in sharing their experience” (Acts 2016, 4.5.).
The list of Ministries detailed in this Section demonstrates the ongoing commitment to and involvement with children and young people in the Dominican Ministry.
